I admit I'm kind of emotionally aloof sometimes (my father calls it emotionally constipated). So I know that I should have done more than I have in terms of keeping in touch with Julia and Dave since Tracy has passed. But I honestly have not known what to say or even how to start.
However, last week I had a reason to contact them. I'm going to make up for an Easter Egg Hunt of the past.
It was a year ago that I saw T and she wasn't doing great (but much better than the previous time we had seen her) but the three of them where in Sarnia and it was Easter time. We offered to take Julia with us to the Canatara Park Easter Egg hung and we were quickly taken up on the offer!
We picked up Julia in the morning (around 10am) and headed to the park just like the rest of Sarnia! The park was sprawling with people and kids and kids with lots of easter eggs already in their basket.... it was very clear after looking and searching and scavenging and searching some more that all the eggs had been found by the 10000 other kids there. At the sight of a glint of colour on the ground undere a picnik table the girls went running (Julia and Maya) and were so happy to get a hold of at least one egg. It was very apparrant that the eggs they had found where dropped eggs from the other kids easter baskets. I had to break it to them that there were not edible at all... but the two of them looked at each other and smiled. They looked at me and asked if they could still look for more? I replied with "Sure I guess as long as you don't eat them, maybe use them in a craft or something". The girls ran around like crazy looking for more dropped eggs and had all the excitement that an Easter Egg hunt is supposed to have.

This year Julia will be coming with us to Sarnia and hanging out with her grandparents but she will also be a guest at our family Easter Egg hunt! I promised that this time the treats will be edible!
